Georgia Alexandra, an indie pop artist from Dorset, crafting a deeply personal music catalogue shaped by patience, discipline and an unwavering belief in her own vision has unveiled her latest single "Somebody Like You". The self-produced single marks a major turning point as the first release from her upcoming debut album.
From the outside, her sound feels dreamy, smooth and husky, but underneath it lies years of self-trust, relentless songwriting and a mindset that has been locked into music for as long as she can remember.
Georgia’s relationship with music began long before it became a career goal. It was instinctive, emotional, and different from those around her.
“My love for music started at around the age of 7, with Hannah Montana and the X Factor, and ever since then I’ve been working towards a career as an artist in the music industry. I’ve always felt drawn to music in a way that no one in my life had ever been.”
By her mid-teens, that pull turned into action. At 16, she began learning guitar and piano, while also taking her first steps into songwriting - a habit that would later grow into an extraordinary creative output. Today, she has written over 2,000 songs, a detail that quietly reveals just how deeply embedded music is in her daily life.
For Georgia, there was never a backup plan, only refinement, evolution and commitment.
Growing up in a small town brought its own challenges, particularly when it came to opportunity and visibility. But instead of allowing geography to define her limits, Georgia adapted.
“Living in a small town can sometimes limit you opportunity wise as well as networking and getting yourself out there. Social media has definitely helped in that aspect and being able to share my music with all different parts of the world is something very helpful and motivating.”
That adaptability led to one of her most defining moments so far: being selected for the JBL x Martin Garrix Music Academy in 2023, an experience that took her to Amsterdam and placed her among artists and industry professionals from across the globe.
It was validation, but also fuel. Proof that her quiet persistence was being noticed.
Georgia is careful not to trap herself within rigid genre boundaries. While indie pop may frame her work, she sees sound as something fluid, something that grows alongside life itself.
Still, there are constants. Her voice carries warmth and texture, and her music leans into atmosphere and emotional depth. Georgia wants her music to feel close, not distant or untouchable - Creating a shared emotional space with listeners. Ask Georgia what sets her apart, and she doesn’t point to numbers, trends or aesthetics. She points inward.
“I would say my mindset is a big factor that would maybe set me apart. I feel like I’ve been so honed in on this career for so long that I have a good mindset for it.”
Connection remains central to Georgia. Whether through kind messages from fans or the shared comfort found in a song, Georgia hopes her music gives back what music has always given her.
Quietly ambitious, deeply committed, and emotionally open, Georgia Alexandra is not chasing moments - she’s building a body of work, a sound, and a future that feels entirely her own. For those paying attention now, this is only the beginning.
