Some artists arrive with a story carved from grit, intention, and quiet determination. M3dal, the Ghanaian rapper now based in London, is one of those artists - a creative force shaped by discipline, introspection, and an unwavering belief in the power of sound. His name itself is a mission statement: “M3dal means (Making Every Decision A Legacy)” - and that ethos runs through everything he creates.

Before music, there was drawing. Growing up in Accra, creativity was already part of his DNA. He recalls, “Drawing was my first discovered talent, thus making me study Art in School.” But music was always in the background - a constant stream of genres, rhythms, and lyrics filling his home and quietly shaping his ear. That early exposure sparked something deeper: “My music influence grew from hearing records of all genres at home as a kid and getting enthused about lyrics, composition, and the different sounds.” High school became the turning point. Joining a rap group, stepping into studios, and discovering the power of his own voice pushed him toward a path that felt inevitable.

Pursuing music wasn’t a smooth ride. In fact, it was met with resistance. “My decision to pursue a music career was not accepted by family since it was the first of its kind.” That lack of support didn’t break him - it refined him. It turned him inward, sharpening his focus and deepening his connection to the craft. “This shaped me into a creative introvert and made me treat music with more affection because it was the only thing that understood me.” For M3dal, music became more than expression. It became refuge.

Ask M3dal to describe his style and he keeps it simple: “A blend of good lyricism, groove, and originality.” It’s a sound shaped by personal experience and environment - the streets, the culture, the everyday moments that carry weight. “My inspiration is from my personal experiences and majorly my environment.” And what sets him apart? “My diversity.” That diversity shows up in the way he approaches writing: “I do not interrupt the groove; I present my lyrics as an instrument to whichever production.” He doesn’t force the music - he flows with it.

Every artist has moments that define their trajectory. For M3dal, a few stand tall: “My first headline concert back in Ghana, my influence on radio commercials and just being able to do business with my skill.” These achievements aren’t just career highlights - they’re proof of concept. Proof that the kid who once felt misunderstood for choosing music was right to trust his instincts. His 2022 album Happily Ever After remains a personal favourite: “It was a project that was created at a very important part of my life. Every song leaves a memory.”

Working with other artists has expanded his creative lens: “It helped me understand the creative perspective of other acts and mostly brings out the best in me.” And if he could collaborate with anyone? “Jae5 the producer. He has a sound that resonates with me.” It’s a fitting choice - Jae5’s fusion-driven production aligns perfectly with M3dal’s groove-heavy, lyric-forward style.

He’s not shy about setting expectations: “Expectations should always be kept high for M3dal.” With a new album on the way and his latest single 'In The Air', produced by Maestar Beats already in motion, he’s entering a new chapter - one defined by global ambition. “My main aim is to introduce my sound to the world.” He sees himself as a “regular guy on his come up,” and he wants listeners to feel that same motivation as they follow his journey.

Looking ahead, M3dal wants his music and image to stand for something bigger: “My sound should be an anchor for self belief and my image should represent hope.” He wants his audience to feel empowered: “It should make them more confident with being themselves.” And those moments of connection - the ones that remind him why he does this - stay with him: “Had a fan tattoo my name. Went through that pain just for my name. Thought that was special.”

Despite the intensity of his craft, M3dal keeps his personal life grounded: “I keep my creative space discreet and balance music emotions with that of my personal life.” He’s honest, direct, and unfiltered: “I speak my mind easily.” And there’s one thing people may not realise: “I could be sad but still make a happy song. Music is personal but I make sure the message isn’t.” That duality, the ability to feel deeply while creating universally - is part of what makes his artistry resonate.

M3dal isn’t just making music. He’s building a philosophy, a brand, a movement rooted in authenticity and intention. Every song, every decision, every step forward is part of a larger mission. He said it best: “M3dal means (Making Every Decision A Legacy).” And as he continues to carve out his place in the UK scene and beyond, one thing is clear - he’s not

just rising; he’s defining what his rise should mean. This is M3dal. And this is only the beginning.
