Emeye meets Chidimma on QH Sound

Something’s brewing in London’s underground electronic scene - and it’s coming with an Afrobeat twist.

Genre-bending producer Emeye has shared an unexpected and very last-minute link-up with Kent-based R&B artist Chidimma, and it’s already sending whispers through both fanbases. The two artists recently met in person for the first time during a cryptic photoshoot that Emeye described as “a really special experience.”

“Meeting Chidimma was actually quite unexpected,” Emeye told QH Sound. “Somehow, we managed to pull off a photoshoot together - my first one ever with a Kent based artist! It all came together very last minute, but it turned out to be a really special experience. The vibes were there from the start.”

The shoot was captured ahead of their upcoming single: an Afrobeat remix of one of Chidimma’s most notable track 'Mystery', due to land on all platforms on the 13th of June 2025.

“I’m super excited to drop my upcoming Afrobeat remix for the amazing Chidimma!” Emeye said. This collab has fans speculating, not just about the track, but about the deeper creative chemistry between the two. According to Emeye, the shoot wasn’t just a photo op. “Getting some promo content ready for my next single; a collab with the amazing Chidimma!” they revealed. “We finally met in person last week during a shoot at the photo studio (masked, of course)... good vibes only and exciting things coming soon...”

Behind the scenes, Emeye is in the thick of what they call “building and healing” - evolving their sound with an EP already underway. “I’m exploring new ways of composing and producing to shape a fresh sound,” they said. “The goal is to consolidate my sonic identity with an EP... I’ve already started working on it, and the early demos are really exciting.”

But don’t mistake the growth for silence, Emeye hasn’t gone quiet online. They’ve been navigating everything from flaky “guru agents” and ghosting labels, to sparring with the Instagram algorithm for speaking up about basic rights, but that's a story for another day and "pretty much everyday life!” they shrugged.

Until then, the countdown to the Chidimma remix is officially on, and if the last-minute meeting is anything to go by, this won’t be the last time these two cross paths. They're building something real. And we are watching.
